Adding follow-up text
Follow-up text is optional text within a Part or Hint, appearing after a student submits or requests a correct answer. It makes a pedagogical point about an item, Part, or Hint.
To add follow-up text:
- Click add followup.
- Enter follow-up text and (optionally) images.
Students see follow-up text highlighted in a green box.
Effective follow-up text:
- Reinforces the concept or topic when the student answers the question correctly; or for the student who requests an answer, this text provides additional guidance toward the successful completion of the tutorial
- Is provided for Parts and for Hints that ask questions (Socratic Hints)
- Provides additional information or context about what the answer actually means
- Relates the item to the rest of the course, and to everyday experience
- Explains how to use the information to solve the Part question (for Hints specifically)
- Can include an image
